Staying in Tintagel

Tintagel is a village on the north Cornwall coast, famous for its association with the legend of King Arthur and for the ruins of Tintagel Castle, a medieval castle on a dramatic coastal headland. The main village holds the highest concentration of hotels, pubs and shops, all within walking distance of the castle and the coast path, and the South West Coast Path passes through it.

The hotels on this shortlist sit in and around that village. The Avalon is on Atlantic Road, King Arthur's Arms Inn and Rosefern are on Fore Street and Kays Mews in the village itself, and 1 Jubilee Cottage and Chi Prenn Byhan are a short distance out at Treknow and Bossiney Bay. Further south, Port William Inn and The Mill House Inn stand at Trebarwith Strand, and Beach Hut lies at Tintagel. It suits couples and families on a short break, walkers using the coast path, and guests who want free car parking and a base for exploring by car.
